Job description: the Web Applications Architect is responsible for architecting, designing and managing the development of complex technology solutions. The candidate must have a solid background in commercial web-based software application development and be able to instill the discipline and methodology of high quality software development in the development team.
Position requirements include:
* Ability to drive the translation and construction of a client's complex business problems into innovative technology solutions within a multidisciplinary environment
* Set guidelines and standards for software development methodology and practice.
* Oversee the development, design, user interface, and technology integration direction
* Manage a technology team from definition phase through deployment.
* Ability to lead multiple teams in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
* This position involves a great deal of client interaction and department leadership. Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Conduct research and development activities to ensure that technical solutions are best in class.
Position Requirements
* Superior experience in designing and leading the implementation of large-scale web applications using Microsoft (.NET) and Java (J2EE) environment.
* Significant Experience in using UML and formal analysis methods.
Proficient with ColdFusion, Java, J2EE, EJB, _javascript_, VB script, ASP.NET, Active X,Visual Basic.NET, XML and Perl/CGI.
* Experience with BEA Weblogic and IBM Websphere implementations
* Hands-on experience with the following is a plus: ATG Dynamo, Interwoven, Vignette, Broadvision, Sieble, Peoplesoft.
* Must have good knowledge of Database based applications, SQL, SQL server and Oracle.
* Experience with .NET and web services.
* Experience with software testing tools and methodologies.
* Must understand the network communications, Windows 2000/3, Unix and popular web-based server technology.
* Candidate must have a BS and/or MS in computer science, 3-5 years software and Internet development experience.
* 2-3 years in a management role.
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity and innovative thinking
* Microsoft or Java certifications a plus
