Senior ColdFusion Developer
Description:
RPS is looking for an expert Cold Fusion Senior Developer for its
application development department. We are in the process of rebuilding a
large-scale web application, and need a senior developer to lead design and
coding efforts. Ideal candidate has experience dealing with scalability,
security, reliability and maintenance issues of complex, long-term projects.
Preferred B.S. in Computer Science, but will consider applicants with
equivalent background.
Responsibilities:
. Assist in updating software development policies and procedures
. Development and deployment of new products in a mission critical
environment
. Upgrade and integration of existing products with new components with
minimal down-time
. Prepare and document test scripts, and test web-based applications.
. Following the procedures set out by RPS in the RPS System Development
Methodology when building new software or updating existing software
. Keeping accurate and up-to-date documentation on all RPS software systems.
. Developer may be required to participate in developing software
application requirements and timelines
. Planning of new systems or modification of existing systems with approval
of VP of Application Development Department .
. Maintaining and updating website.
. Testing software which is comprised of Unit Testing, Modular Testing, and
System/Integration Testing
Required Experience:
. 6+ years of professional software development, with the last 3 in
web-based applications utilizing Macromedia's ColdFusion
- At least 6 months experience with ColdFusion MX
- HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML and _javascript_ experience needed
- Proficient with Dreamweaver/Studio
. 6+ years experience utilizing SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
methodologies
. 3+ years architecting, building, and validating high-traffic, mission
critical Cold Fusion applications
. 2+ years experience as a senior developer
. 4+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server
- Proficient with indexes, stored procedures, triggers and SQL
. Must understand implications of dynamic web site design and be able to
build prototypes accordingly.
. Effective time management skills
. Effective communication skills, both written and oral
Desired Experience:
. Fusebox 3 and 4
. Object-oriented analysis and design skills
. UML
. Pharmaceutical industry
. A creative aspect that would include:
- The ability to build compelling graphical layouts and create appealing
design elements (gifs, flash, menus, etc.)
- Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Macromedia's Fireworks,
Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.
