TITLE: Web Developer REPORTS TO: Director, Technical Services LOCATION: Washington, D.C. or Austin, TX
Full-time permanent position. The D.C. office is within walking distance to Farragut North Metro Station. The Austin office is downtown, three blocks from the Texas Capitol. Work with one of the nation’s premier online communications firms providing effective online strategies and solutions for public affairs campaigns. Its clients include many of the nation’s leading associations, coalitions, non-profit organizations, corporations, and foundations working on a broad range of issues. Their award-winning efforts have set the standard for innovation, creativity, and results. REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major · 3-5 years of relevant technology experience; · Proficient with PHP or ColdFusion; · Experience with Apache is a plus; · Comfortable with Unix, database driven web environments; · Experience in a MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL environment; · Experience writing technical specifications for projects, and know how to scale up or down the time spent on this, while trading off risk; · Candidate must be familiar with all phases of the software development lifecycle; · Manage requirements, design, schedule, and project documentation; · Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals and to facilitate client meetings; · Microsoft certification is a plus SUMMARY: Work with a team of experienced communicators and technologists who understand the strategic application of message, design, and technology to help their clients work seamlessly. Consult with client services and conceptualize requirements for the design and administration of complex applications to accommodate a variety of user needs.
