Sr Software Developer Job Description Technical Lead for project-specific Application Development. Responsible for ensuring client expectations are met via continual teaming with Project Manager(s) to define and understand requirements, troubleshoot software problems and develop change requests. Strive to deliver high quality client service in both technical excellence and timeliness. Provide direction of daily operations for the project technical development team with the goal of providing high-quality software applications that allows for customer to recognize efficiencies through automated processes and timely client care. Provide troubleshooting expertise as required. Responsible for assisting in the development of processes governing the entire software development lifecycle. Work with other teams to ensure that customer expectations are met and exceeded. This includes working with Graphic Artists, Technical Writers, Quality Managers, Software Testers, and others. In addition, processes will need to be developed to ensure the customer service center is aware of current development issues, schedule/status and expected resolution times. Act as project technical lead and expert in all development activities developing applications utilizing the technologies listed below. Have extensive knowledge in determining functional requirements and translating them into applicable technical requirements. Assists in determining required development and software configuration management tools.
Qualifications: At least 8 years web-based software and database development experience. Proven experience in every phase of the software development lifecycle. 6+ years experience developing web applications in Cold Fusion with recent experience developing Cold Fusion Compoments required. Experience with the FuseBox4 framework a definite plus Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (from a database design and data manipulation standpoint more than a DBA standpoint). Experience in Macromedia FLEX, Flash, FlashComm, Breeze and web services would be of interest. Experience in ASP would help as we are migrating some legacy applications from ASP to Cold Fusion. 2 years of experience using CVS (or similar) for version control and/or working in a distributed team evironment with version control software strongly desired. Experience using JIRA issue management server of interest. 2 years of experience working in formal development processes (eg. SEI,CMM,PMP). Project management certifications (esp. PMI PMP) a plus. Management/leadership role experience in small development teams desired. Familiarity with SEI CMM Level 2 Processes a plus. Strong organization, management, and communication skills also required.
