Developer Description The Developer's role is to build and maintain the operations end of the organization's web sites and keep them running smoothly. This includes designing, building, and implementing new web pages and sites; integrating sites with back end applications; migrating legacy applications to the web; and performing day-to-day administration of the organization's web portfolio. The developer will also be involved in creating and maintaining other applications that are distributed within the company. Use of a variety of development languages is required such as Coldfusion, ASP,.Net. Assist in Layout and design of the web site and marketing materials. Responsibilities 1 Participate is setting organizational web / nonweb development strategy. 2 Define architecture and overall site structure. 3 Develop, code, install, test, debug, and document applications using appropriate editors. 4 Register Web servers and sites with domain name services. 5 Establish policies and procedures for publishing applications and applications in conjunction with content creators. 6 Update Web pages to ensure site accuracy and currency. 7 Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing in-house developed applications and sites. 8 Work with database administrator to design, develop, and update databases as they relate to applications. 9 Ensure security of all Web sites and related applications. 10 Monitor and report on Web site traffic and performance. 11 Perform cost-benefit analyses of proposed implementations. 12 Conduct research into current and emerging technologies and issues in support of development efforts.
