Jet Propulsion Laboratory - Pasadena, CA

Required:
At least 5 years of working experience in the field. Experience in
developing Client/Server and Intranet applications using Java, JSP, ASP,
Perl, PHP, Flash and ColdFusion server-side scripting. Demonstrated
knowledge with MS SQL, MySQL and Oracle relational database design in a
MS Windows, Unix, and Linux environment. Experience in developing web
systems using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, CGI, AJAX, XML, C++, C# and Flash.
Experience in developing and maintaining corporate websites as well as
web site graphic design using Adobe Photoshop. Ability to work with
tight schedule and minimal supervision.

 

Desired:

BBA or BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or
equivalent technical degree.  

 

Will:

Be a Category A contractor member of the Web Applications Development
Group and be involved in all phases of the software development
lifecycle. Develop web-based applications using HTML/CSS, JSP, Java,

Requires: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
discipline with 2 years work experience. Experience in dealing with
customers. Good interpersonal skills. Experience with Windows operating
systems. Excellent C#, .NET (1.1) and ASP/ASP.NET programming skill with
real development and Object Oriented Design experience. Knowledge of Web
Services (.NET & SOAP), HTML. JavaScript, CSS. Experience with XML and
XSLT. Web-based and client-server application development experience.
Ability to work with MS-SQL Server - T-SQL (triggers, stored procedures,
database design / RDBMS). Visual Basic 6.0 / VB-COM knowledge. A quick
learner and conscientious.

 

Desire: MA/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
discipline with 3 years work experience or BA/BS with 5 years
experience. Knowledge of the engineering Problem Reporting Process.
Experience working with Windows Administration, IIS (5.x-6.x), and MS
SQL Server. Previous experience with designing user interfaces, working
in a Load-Balanced environment, using Visual Source Safe, and connecting
to LDAP. Experience with Configuration Management principles and
techniques. Experience with JPL environment, policies, and practices.
Technical Writing skills and the ability to convey architectural ideas
and principles. Excellent presentation skills.

 

Will: Development Programmer: Programmers are responsible for
implementing, and delivering key components of the PDMS/PRS system. In
the coming year, the programmers will be focusing in the following
areas: 1)Custom Tools - Will continue to design and create custom tools
for parts of the PRS system. The System Engineer, with help from the
development programmer, will gather requirements and specifications for
new tools. The Lead Programmer, with help from the development
programmer, is responsible for the Implementation Planning and System
Architecture documents for these tools. The Development Programmer is
ultimately responsible for the final product, including the
implementation, operations, and retirement documentation. The quality of
the delivery will be based on its meeting of the requirements and
specifications. 2)Programming  He/she assists the Lead Programmer in
implementing the PRS system designs. He/she programs and documents much
of the software that makes up the current PDMS system. Programmers are
required to follow the conventions set forth in the PDMS Programmers
Guide. 3)Software Design  Programmers are responsible for designing and
documenting their deliverables to the Lead Programmer. The detailed
design of the modules, testing, and requirements verification are the
responsibility of the Programmers. 4)Software Engineering  Each
Programmer is expected to participate in system engineering activities
to broaden their experience base and effectiveness.
