The Web Applications Developer is primarily responsible for the design
and creation of highly intuitive, professional and elegant web user
interfaces.  Web based applications are the norm and this position will
require an independently minded individual to apply their skills to
provide a truly world-class environment for the organization.  The Web
Developer will design and develop web page interfaces using ColdFusion ,
create/modify layouts, user interface graphics, infrastructure, and
client-side code, write technical documentation from a functional
specification, and provide consultation for internal projects in
relation to development or expansion of new/current web based
applications.  The Web Developer will work on cross-functional teams and
is self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, able to meet deadlines
and dedicated to the creation of great solutions to complex problems.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

* Develop, implement, and maintain web sites and web-based applications
to support the administrative and academic programs of the college using
Coldfusion.

* Develop functional and technical designs as part of a project team.

* Develop and maintain the graphics, style sheets, style guides and
scripts to be utilized across the entire intranet.

* Develop wire frames, prototypes, mockups, and at times, provide
multiple design options.

* Participate as a key member of the cross-functional design and
development team through all phases of the software development project
cycle.

* Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

 

Job Requirements:

 

Minimum Level of Education - Required - Bachelor's Degree in Computer
Science or related field

 

Minimum Level of Experience - Required - 3+ years

 

Additional Required Skills and Abilities:

 

* Fluency Coldfusion.

*  Fluency in Javascript, CSS, and XHTML.

* Experience dealing with scalability, security, reliability and
maintenance issues.

* Experience dealing with cross-browser issues.

* Working knowledge of source code control (Visual Source Safe is a
plus).

* Working knowledge of MS Access and/or MS SQL Server.

* Proficiency in designing and developing valid XHTML websites using
Javascript and CSS in a table-less layout.

* A commitment to keeping up with and promoting Web standards and
industry best practices.

* Graphic design experience is a plus.
