We have a long term mid-level Coldfusion Developer opportunity with a 
non-profit organization located in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC (Metro 
accessible). The position is temporary with the option to convert to permanent 
employment after 6 months. Once you become a permanent employee you will

SUMMARY

The Software Engineer will primarily utilize ColdFusion to maintain and enhance 
our existing suite of Web applications.  Work with customers to assess business 
needs, documenting requirements as needed; design solutions and create 
prototypes for user acceptance; and work with quality assurance team to ensure 
that the code is well tested.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

Works in consultation with senior and lead software engineers and manager. 
Provides occasional support to other IS teams.

May have frequent contact with other I.T. sections, business analysts or 
customers that may involve project coordination, clarification of requirements, 
or resolution of operational problems.

Perform analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications 
from user requirements and design documents. Resolves defects encountered 
during various testing cycles
·      Code, test and implement programs
·      Develop system documentation according to established client standards
·      Provide operational support to existing applications
·      Mentor junior software engineers


QUALIFICATIONS

·      Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, 
mathematics, engineering or related discipline required (may be waived with 
strong practical experience)
·      2-5 years of relevant job experience 
·      Advanced knowledge of ColdFusion
·      Advanced experience in Javascript/DHTML preferred
·      Knowledge of SQL
·      Oracle experience and PL/SQL knowledge
·      Knowledge of or willingness and ability to learn the following: J2EE, 
Java, Spring Framework
·      Demonstrated experience in Object-Oriented Design
·      Understands the concepts, practices and procedures of common software 
development methodologies and associated artifacts, and can apply them to 
complex projects
·      Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust 
and confidence with customers
·      Ability to work with minimal supervision
·      Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
·      Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
