Description The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.Information Technology Group (ITG) is the computer information systems, networking and telecommunications department for OHSU. ITG is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems, network and telecommunication systems within OHSU. These systems are used throughout OHSU for administrative, clinical, education and research applications. These systems are critical to providing patient care within University Hospital and to the overall operation of OHSU.The position is in the Database, Applications and Web Technical Services group of ITG. This group is responsible for providing database administration support; system administration support of enterprise applications and web engineer administration support for the various OHSU web strategic teams. This group is responsible for supporting, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and procedures to ensure the availability, confidentiality, security and quality of data in OHSU databases and providing robust and secure web infrastructure for which ITG is a steward. Additionally the group provides system administration support of enterprise applications and web engineering support for the various OHSU web development teams.The primary purpose of this position is to administer the ColdFusion and CommonSpot Web infrastructure that are used to design and implement custom Web applications in support of the various OHSU missions. Additionally this position will perform UNIX and Windows system administration as needed to support the Web infrastructure.Secondarily, this position may be responsible for technical architecture and development of enterprise applications. This position may also perform some database system administration functions in support of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle RDMBS and InterSystems Caché post-relational database management system based applications at OHSU. The Incumbent will observe due care, objectivity and respect for confidentiality. All employees must keep confidential what they hear and what they see when handling, reviewing or observing: communications and records thereof (calls, email, pages, fax, etc.), data transmission, databases, or other forms of information. Confidentiality extends the identities of the parties of the communications, and even to the fact that the communication took place. When sharing information, consider whether the recipient has a true -business need to know.-ITG employees are responsible for the security of OHSU technology. In exercising their duties, ITG employees must follow OHSU-s security directives, incorporating security measures in the delivery of their everyday tasks, and are required to report security concerns to the ITG Security Engineering team.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor-s degree in computer science or related field and four years of information technology related experience including application development (two years of the required experience should include web engineer administrator experience on the same or similar web application tools, with experience in installing, configuring and tuning of web application servers and services and one year of the required experience should include programming on the same or similar web application tools); OR Bachelor-s degree in computer science or related field and six years of information technology related experience including application development (two years of the required experience should include programming on the same or similar web application tools with the responsibilities that included developing web applications and one year of the required experience should include web engineer administrator experience on the same or similar web application tools with experience in installing, configuring and tuning of web application servers and services); OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with UNIX hosts operating systems (Solaris, HP-UX, etc) including setting up clusters. Experience in compiling multiple open source software in UNIX environments. Experience managing and maintaining a ColdFusion/CommonSpot environment. Experience in designing, creating and load testing web system architectures. Strong expertise in UNIX Shell scripting. Experience in a multi-platform development operational environment such as Apache, JRun, PHP, Tomcat, ColdFusion, CommonSpot and Microsoft IIS 5.0/6.0 including knowledge of not only installing and upgrading but configuring, tuning and troubleshooting. Ability to understand and work with Network team to create rules for Cisco Application Control Engine (ACE). Experience with managing SSL Certificates (create, import, export and PEM format) Experience with supporting and administrating web authoring and content management development tools. Working technical knowledge of current Internet, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP and HTTPS. Technically fluent in multiple programming and scripting languages such as ColdFusion, PHP, J2EE, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Perl, C#. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks with a demonstrated ability to work with independence and initiative. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Effective mediation, motivation, negotiation and persuasion skills. Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, management and customers. Will have strong written and oral communications skills. Keen attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.Preferred: Experience in Microsoft operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows Server 2000 and/or 2003 including setting up clusters. Advanced understanding of object-oriented programming. Experience with LDAP/Active Directory Experience with load testing tools such as Mercury-s Load Runner. Experience working with RDBMS as a DBA and /or developer. OHSU currently uses MS SQL Server, Oracle, Intersystem Cache, IBM DB2 and MySQL. Experience with Endeca search engine setup and implementation. Experience working with other web application servers such as Oracle 9iAS/10gAS. Experience in an academic medical center or other healthcare environment. Experience with service monitoring and alerting tools. Certifications in Microsoft development software and/or equivalent work experience. Certifications in CommonSpot and ColdFusion development software and/or equivalent work experience.
