Hi all,

I've been working on the web since 1994 and with ColdFusion since 1998,
am twice certified advanced for ColdFusion and an Adobe Community Expert
and former Team Macromedia member for ColdFusion. I've published two
complete-ish frameworks for ColdFusion, the onTap framework and the
DataFaucet ORM. I say complete-ish, because it's like art, these
projects are never complete (although they are sometimes abandoned).
Although I do not have a college degree, I am a hard worker, a fast
learner and I have a penchant for thinking outside the box (and a
history of repeatedly doing things that people with more credentials
than I, like Hal Helms and Ben Forta, have claimed to be impossible).

Okay, now that I've gotten the boring credentials stuff out of the way,
here's the reason for my post. :)

I received a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome from a neurologist in Boston
in the latter part of 2008. Receiving this diagnosis is one of a handful
of the most profound and important experiences in my life. It gave my
life purpose in a way that nothing else had. I strive to be an optimist,
to push myself beyond my limits and to learn from my mistakes. Three
months ago I started working on a project to create jobs for the
millions of people in the world on the autistic spectrum who like myself
have had extreme employment challenges. I know that we can reduce the
unemployment rate from its current 80%, because it's already happening
in Europe. The 5-year old Danish company Specialisterne employ just 60
people, most of them software testers with Asperger Syndrome, and are
not merely succesful, but phenomenally successful, turning over 2-million
pounds in revenues each year. The problem is that no one has been doing
this here in the US and Canada (as far as I know). So that's my goal, to
bring this business model to the united states and make dreams come true
for these folks here in the US who're struggling with employment the way
I have over the years. I started doing that about three months ago on
this website: http://www.autlabs.com This is not a job for me. In a way
that maybe I can't explain, this is not even comparable to a job.
This is a purpose.

Which leads me to problem #2. I still have bills to pay. :)

I'm looking for contract work that will give me enough time to ensure
the success of the AutLabs project. I want to make it crystal clear that,
although you will get my absolute best work (I think I might be physically
incapable of anything less), the paycheck is not buying my loyalty. My
loyalty belongs to the millions of people on the autism spectrum
struggling to find or keep a job, and that is my first priority. If that's
a problem for you, then look elsewhere and thank you for your time. In
my remaining time, I will work diligently for you, be honest with you
(a hallmark of autism), push the envelope and warn you of any potential
setbacks I see in the future.

I'm currently located in Arlington Texas, in the Dallas / Ft Worth
mid-cities area. I'm open to working on site here in the local area or
any kind of project or telecommute work you might have. I have a valid
TX driver's license and a reliable vehicle, owned in trust by my bank.
And although I prefer projects that are strange and challenging (like
Sherlock Holmes), any project I accept will get my full attention.

My resume and references are available on request.

God Bless,

Ike
