Our client in Aberdeen is supporting the Army on Aberdeen Proving Grounds. This particular SharePoint position is supporting one major group on post, which is IMCOM (Installation Management Command). Their website is: http://www.imcom.army.mil/hq/. This person will be the face to the direct customer, IMCOM, and be their âgo-toâ SharePoint person from a technical, lead and management perspective. Because of BRAC efforts, IMCOM is moving to Ft. Sam Houston which is located in San Antonio, Texas. This person will be sitting at Aberdeen supporting SharePoint efforts as the organization starts to move, hence itâs only a 6 month project because they look to be fully in San Antonio by the end of the contract. You will be responsible for managing and leading all SharePoint efforts from a development, administration and support effort along with the management and leading of the current staff. As IMCOM begins to move, information will need to be shared in different locations, so the building of new sites and assisting the customer with what they need day to day will be essential. You will have to know how to work SharePoint day in a day out, how to plan out new initiatives that the customer may need and how to get things up and running as they start to move out. They are looking for candidates that come from a project management background in making sure sites and resources are properly running efficiently and effectively. Again, you are the clients face to their customer, IMCOM, so effective communication and articulation to users is essential.
This will only be 20 hours of work per week. Why Position is Open- The current resource that supported IMCOM and OACISM is now fully supporting just OACISM (part of IMCOM and Installation Management). That is leaving a very large void in support for IMCOM, which you will support. Business Challenge- If the IMCOM customer does not have SharePoint support and management support for their move, information will be lost and the customer will be in a real tight situation in terms of getting the data they need to complete missions.
