Work Experience ColdFusion Software Engineer / Systems Admin / Web Project Manager 7/2009 - 5/2010 - ExamWeb, LLC - Costa Mesa, CA I was the main go-to guy for all things technical for ExamWeb. Some highlights of this project include: . Established an issue tracking system used to monitor daily support requests and ongoing projects, and installed a document tracking system (SharePoint) for company-wide intelligence. . Evaluated for hire and managed other ColdFusion developers. . Configured and maintained all Windows-based Systems, including many dedicated servers hosted with RackSpace, and internal development servers. Reconfigured and consolidated outdated and unneeded equipment, saving the company $36-50k annually and improving system-wide performance, reliability, and availability. . Managed DNS, Firewalls, and network connections. . Established thorough documentation procedures for requirements gathering including the use of MindJet for all major projects. . Performed ongoing systems analysis to identify bottlenecks in processes - such as tuning the Microsoft SQL queries and monitoring long-running ColdFusion queries. . Assisted with requirements gathering and meetings with clients. . Created detailed work estimates for all new projects and assisted with sales strategies. . Freedom Communications is the parent company of the Orange County Register (www.ocregister.com) and about 35 other newspapers and broadcast television stations. Freedom Interactive is the technical division of the company responsible for all the web sites company-wide. Working as a contractor of Kforce Staffing, I assisted Freedom Interactive in the development of several of their company's websites. . My primary project while at Freedom Interactive was (www.myochigh.com). . Involved in all aspects of the production of this website from conception to completion. . Facilitated months of requirements gathering meetings. . Wrote all of the project documentation. . Created the structure of the system. . Directly managed a small team of web developers working on the website. . Was involved in the actual programming of the website itself utilizing PHP and MySQL in a multi-tiered, version-controlled development environment. . The end result of all this work was a portal website designed to be an online meeting place for Orange County's 275,000 high school students which has since replaced by www.ocvarsity.com, but many of the core technologies in the new site were ones we previously developed. . Also wrote specifications and developed a project plan to syndicate the company's (www.ocvarsity.com) website across Freedom Communication's other online properties and led the redevelopment of several other news web sites including (www.oaoa.com), (www.shelbystar.com), (www.tribtown.com), and (www.gastongazette.com) Project Manager 12/2005 - 1/2007 - Specific Media, Irvine, CA . Oversaw the development of new products for the company throughout the entire life cycle from strategic planning to managing implementation. A typical product would be a web portal used to provide useful information on varying topics and collect sales leads. . Regularly translated marketing requirements into technical documentation and acted as the main contact between a small team of web developers, graphics artists, and senior management of the company. . Developed and maintained the company's project tracking system which is used nearly 100 people now. . Was also personally involved in the development process as well, helping out with graphics, PHP programming, MySQL database design, project management, and all other logistics as needed. . It features advanced searching technology that is hundreds of times more accurate than other search engines. We essentially eliminated the "noise" and "irrelevant" results, not to mention all the spam websites that most search engines contain in their indexes. . Since day one, I have been responsible for all technical operations of the business including the development of the website itself, taking care of the co-located server, networking, hardware, planning, budgeting, and everything else necessary to make the business plan a reality.
