Organization Description: Skylark is a small, boutique media company located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2008 Skylark launched the website SignUpGenius.com, a volunteer management system that provides free sign up forms for schools, churches, scout troops, sports teams, charities, and non-profits. SignUpGenius reduces the effort needed by these organizations to coordinate and plan their events and therefore allows them to focus their energy on their world-changing missions. In the last two years, the site has seen enormous growth through grass-roots web marketing and word-of-mouth recommendations from a fiercely loyal membership. The site is currently in the midst of a major upgrade that will provide more professional-grade functionality to the larger organizations that are now utilizing the site to organize volunteers and events all over the world.
Overall Responsibilities: Assist in expanding, maintaining, and supporting the SignUpGenius.com website and helping with other client projects as needed. Will involve: â¢Working alongside other developers to script new functionality â¢Assisting with direct user support â¢Debugging and testing of code â¢Server optimization and maintenance â¢Assist with SEO and web marketing when needed â¢ColdFusion web development projects for clients Requirements: â¢Knowledge of ColdFusion 8/9, SQL 2005/2008, IIS, Windows 2008 server, model-view-controller architecture, CFCs, HTML, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, CSS. â¢Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or experience. â¢2-6 years of experience in a ColdFusion development role for a medium to large website. â¢Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and processes in simple terms. â¢Ability to interact well in a team environment. â¢Passing score on a selected entry test for new hires.
