Thank you! Modis - Sr. ColdFusion Developer (Washington, DC) Job Description: * Perform business needs analysis and helps guide end user requirements into achievable systems. Advise users on feasibility and practically of suggested automation. Formulate design plans and writes project specifications. * Perform computer system design and analysis tasks that result in modifications to existing systems, or future enterprise wide web enabled systems. Research hardware and software requirements for new or modified systems. Develop computer program specifications in conjunction with management and other key support staff. Identify data transformation throughout various business processes. Design program modules, and module to module links for a given technology architecture. Develop database access patterns and other I/O operations. * Develop and maintain large distributed applications including Order Entry, Address Verification, Membership, and Subscription. Perform intermediate and advanced programming tasks. Construct relational databases, programs, web forms and batch update processes. * Test and debug member and subscriber web processes. Processes from systems that take update transactions from the business system, updating web staging tables and SQL tables used on the web. * Develop and maintain system documentation. Define security requirements and control procedures and performance tests. Analyze discrepancies between actual and expected results. Identify possible sources of discrepancies and recommend solutions. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus five years of related experience. * Seven years of related experience, four of which include working with web systems may substitute for degree. * Advanced programming skills in languages including Java, ColdFusion, UNIX and Shell script required. * Advanced database skills including SQL Service, Access, Progress, Oracle and other database technologies required. * Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, spreadsheets, word processing and other software applications required. * Experience working with order entry applications, cash receipts, batch transactions, and membership and subscription application systems highly desired. * Effective interpersonal, organizational and writing skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
