The primary responsibility is to develop web based<br> applications that meet the needs of the internal customer.<br> <br> ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.<br> Other duties may be assigned.<br> <br> 1. Write applications in ColdFusion markup language, but Visual Basic, C or<br> other languages may be used for occasional stand alone, traditional<br> applications.<br> 2. Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using various<br> programming and scripting languages.<br> 3. Assists in project planning and Web site design.<br> 4. Creates prototypes and functional specifications for software projects.<br> 5. Creates technical methods for engineering solutions to Web-based development problems.<br> 6. Determines new Web technologies to utilize, such as browsers, languages, and plug-ins, based on companys needs.<br> 7. Conceptualize long-term needs of Web development, and plans and manages related projects.<br> 8. Makes suggestions on creating Web-based technical standards for specific Web sites and the company as a whole.<br> 9. Will need to be proficient enough to stand in as an emergency network<br> administrator when necessary.<br> 10.This position requires that the developer work closely with internal<br> customers to determine requirements for applications and then to work with<br> those customers through the completion of the project.<br> 11.Typical "engagements" are with sales, marketing, manufacturing and quality<br> managers.<br> 12.Depending on project scope, may work closely with the CIO during all phases<br> of software development including requirements gathering and architectural<br> planning.<br> 13.Must be able to work in a productive manner with minimum supervision.<br> 14.This position requires someone who likes making decisions, but who also<br> realizes that our internal customers will make the majority of the strategic<br> decisions regarding what an application can or cannot do.<br> <br> The CIO may or may not be involved at the actual code development level as<br> deemed necessary.<br> <br> EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE<br> <br> Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to<br> two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of<br> education and experience.<br> <br> COMPUTER SKILLS<br> <br> 1. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following<br> technical background: Minimum 3 years experience Macromedia ColdFusion<br> 2. Experience with Fusebox methodology.<br> 3. Strong knowledge of basic SQL commands and concepts required Visual Basic experience preferred.<br> 4. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred.<br> 5. Macromedia Flash integration with ColdFusion desired.<br> 6. Strong communication skills - written and verbal.<br> 7. Computer networking experience preferred.<br> <br> Bottom line requirements that we need notes on with your submittal;<br> <br> 1.
