Application Software Engineer <br> <br> OVERVIEW<br> <br> This is an excellent opportunity to join our software engineering team and contribute to the successful delivery of corporate and client based software solutions. We are a Cold Fusion shop, and if you have that special skill and extensive knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, Java and years of developing applications online; youre the one we are looking for! Team members are responsible for participating in application development efforts focused on the delivery of new features, enhancements and ongoing maintenance. Our software development environment is nimble and fast-paced. Team members will also be required to assist with operational production support as needed.<br> <br> RESPONSIBILITIES<br> <br> Specific duties include, but are not limited to:<br> ? Translate business requirements (user stories) into design specifications<br> ? Interpret design specifications correctly<br> ? Provide accurate Level of Effort (LOE) time estimates for assigned tasks<br> ? Initiate, participate in and contribute to cross-functional team collaboration<br> ? Develop robust new code or refactor existing software according to requirements<br> ? Follow established test and deployment procedures including unit-testing of new/modified code<br> ? Comply with project documentation requirements as defined by the project team<br> <br> QUALIFICATIONS<br> <br> Expert application software development skill in the areas of analysis, design, coding, tuning and implementation. He/she should have significant experience applying these skills in a high volume Internet Web Application environment. In addition, we are looking for someone who has significant experience scaling dynamic content oriented web applications.<br> <br> Skills:<br> <br> ? 5+ years writing and utilizing ColdFusion ,JavaScript, CSS, HTML and an Object-Oriented programming language<br> ? Experience with JQuery and AJAX<br> ? Strong SQL Server skills, including the writing of optimized queries, stored procedures and triggers<br> ? Experience with SQL Server 2008 R2 <br> ? Efficient in problem analysis and resolution<br> ? Experience with distributed software version control systems required; PlasticSCM preferred<br> ? Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages is essential<br> ? Knowledge of client/server architecture, servlets and/or design patterns useful<br> ? Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail<br> ? Strong communication skills (written and verbal) is a must<br> ? Must be self directed and have excellent time management skills<br> ? Experience in analyzing, developing, and interpreting complex system requirements<br> ? Designing and creating data structures to support functionality required by new applications<br> ? Trouble-shooting and programming analysis of application issues<br> ? Experience with MVC architectures is highly desirable<br> ? Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced development environment<br> ? Ability to maintain composure and meet deadlines in high intensity fast paced environment <br> ?
