JOB DESCRIPTION: The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) supports youth and community services through contracts with a broad network of community-based organizations throughout New York City. Our central task is administering available city, state, and federal funds to a wide range of innovative, practical and quality programs that positively impact youth and communities. Under supervision, with considerable latitude for independent judgment, DYCD is seeking a computer programmer on a team responsible for development and maintenance of agency core contract processing systems in a fast paced environment. This position encompasses many aspects of cross technology system development cycle, including coding, analysis, definition and documentation of business processes, business requirements and functional specifications, technical design and implementation as well as system test plans and system documentation. PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience -4+ years Cold Fusion. Must include MX experience. -4+ years SQL server -2+ years .Net -2+ years XML and SOAP. -1+ years Crystal reports Skills -Advanced Cold Fusion Skills â including object, web and stand alone project,and XML. -Experience building and maintaining multi-tier web applications. -Extensive experience with T-SQL, including complex joins, database normalization. -Experience building high volume secure web applications -Experience working on development team using formal design specifications and rules. -Experience using a database design & documentation tool such as Erwin or Visio. -Good written and oral communication skills. -Plus Some experience with iOS Objective C MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, systems programming, data communications, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience as described in "1" above, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or 3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in "2" above on the basis that 60 semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. A masters degree in computer science or a related computer field may be substituted for one year of the required experience in "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
