Position Description and Job Functions:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate successful experience in
each area for which they will be responsible.
The ColdFusion technical lead will be responsible for the following.
Manage and Grow client relationships. The technical lead will work with client
ColdFusion management and other technical leads. The technical lead will be
responsible for working with client Functional Business Analysts and Business
SMEs. The technical lead must present professionalism, managerial and
leadership skills, technical expertise, communication and collaboration skills
to maintain and build the client relationship.
Identify future ColdFusion business opportunities.
Lead the ColdFusion development team in project and daily work assignments.
Deliver project solutions on time with the quality expected by the client.
Plan, design, execute and deliver ColdFusion enhancements to existing
applications and new application.
· Receive enhancement and new application project assignments from
client.
· Coordinate with client on project timing and solution deliverables.
· Collect and document requirements through collaboration with client
Functional Business Analysts, Business SMEs and/or client ColdFusion IS Staff.
· Plan, execute and deliver the project to include:
o Communication and collaboration plan
o Risk and Issues management
o Architect solution
o Solution design
o Determine optimum SDLC approach (hybrid Agile Scrum, iterative, waterfall)
o Identify and assign resources required to execute project
o Build and execute the project schedule
o Make work assignments
o Manage and lead work performance
o Set coding standards consistent with client standards
o Conduct code reviews and guarantee code quality and supportability
o Unit and Integration testing
o Support System and UAT testing
o Establish iterative deliverables schedule
o Establish solution delivery schedule
o Comply with solution acceptance criteria
o Obtain client acceptance of deliverables and final solution
· Status Reporting
o Establish project performance metrics to ensure:
§ Risk/Issue resolution efficiency
§ Resource management
§ Code performance quality
§ Defect rates
§ Amount of rework
§ Project timeliness and schedule compliance
§ Solution alignment to satisfying requirements
§ Customer satisfaction
· Weekly Status Reporting
· Conduct weekly status meetings with client.
The successful technical lead must be hands-on ColdFusion Senior Developer
level. The Technical Lead may be required, on occasion to support the
following developer tasks:
* Design, code and unit test application code using Software Development
Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
* Complete estimates and work plans with the assistance of more senior team
members as appropriate for design, development, implementation and rollout
tasks.
* Ability to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget.
* Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation
remains current throughout all phases of the SDLC.
* Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or
without reasonable accommodation.
Current tools and technologies include:
· ColdFusion 8, SQL 2005, Fusebox, CFCs, WebSphere, PERL, Eclipse, Ant,
Maven, CFC Unit
· HTML, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, CSS, JMS, UML, SQL Server. Experience
with DB2 is desired
Skills and Requirements:
* Customer service delivery oriented.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent collaboration skills.
* 3 years Technical Team Lead experience. Experience in leading small 2-4
developer teams in enhancement and new application development.
* 3 years Project Management experience. Experience in Small Project
Planning to include:
* Establishing scope.
* Assessing requirements and determining their sufficiency in enabling
project planning, execution and assurance that the solution will meet client
expectations.
* Collecting and documenting requirements.
* Resource estimating, Resource assignment, Resource management of work
activities through project execution.
* Schedule build, baselining, execution.
* Time management.
* Communication planning and execution
* Risk management
* Change management
* Reporting
* IS related bachelor's degree is required.
* 3 years experience minimum in working with Business SME and/or Functional
Business Analyst to capture and document requirement.
* 3 years experience architecting small applications. Must demonstrate the
Big Picture understanding the interaction effect of multiple components on the
overall application.
* 5 or more current years experience in Cold Fusion or Java system
analysis, design and programming methodologies.
* 5 or more years experience of ColdFusion. Version 8 experience is highly
preferred.
* 3 or more years experience in Fusebox, CFCs, WebSphere, PERL, Eclipse,
Ant, Maven, CFC Unit.
* 3 or more years experience in HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, CSS,
JMS, UML.
* 3 or more years experience with SQL Server, Store Procedures, SQL
Scripting.
* DB2 experience is desired.
* MS Access experience is desired.
