As an exercise, yes, and it produced the same results. However, J2EE session variables are a requirement due to the fact that we run in a clustered environment. Further, even with J2EE session variables turned off, I noticed that a JSESSIONID value is set anyway (twice), even though CF uses its own concatenation of the APPID/CFID/CFTOKEN for the sessionid value. This gets stranger and stranger!
