While your heap sizes are set, there's no spec for the perm space
(assuming the Jrockit JVM is comparable to Sun's in this respect).
It's possible that the perm space is being extended and causing a
pause (although 3 minutes is seems strange). The only way to know for
sure is to turn on verbose GC logging and see what's going on.
