CF 5 supports a new tag called <CFFlush>. When the server sees this tag, it flushes the buffer to the browser and continues to process. You should be able to force it to show the gif image and then when the rest of the template completes I believe it automatically dumps to the browser (no flushing required).
I do not know (and doubt) the Cfflush allows you to clear the browser window prior to the second set of data being sent, so your 'pleasewait.gif' image will probably continue to show with the rest of the template. Though you might be able to modify this. Let me know how it works out, Ryan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Bakken, Kory Sent: Wednesday, January 02, 2002 2:59 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [KCFusion] Loading... Happy New Year everybody! Does anybody know if and how it is possible to render a "Loading..." .gif while waiting for a large Coldfusion template to be processed and rendered in the browser. I have run into issues since the template does not return output to the browser until it is finished processing the template, and then, of course, it is too late to let the user know that it might take a moment.
