I agree with Ray, If you are using MSSQL then as part of your insert do this as well
SELECT @@IDENTITY AS recordId Make sure the cfquery has a name and you should be able to do this queryNamer.recordId If you are using another database other than MS SQL then look up how they get the inserted record id. -- Regards, Andrew Scott WebSite: http://www.andyscott.id.au/ Google+: http://plus.google.com/108193156965451149543 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-newbie/message.cfm/messageid:5542 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-newbie/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-newbie/unsubscribe.cfm
