For this you'll need full access to the ColdFusion Administrator
application. Here's what to do in detail:
a. Start the ColdFusion Administrator (usually found by clicking Start |
Programs | ColdFusion Server 4.x | ColdFusion Administrator).
b. Log in using the password for administrator access that you chose when CF
Server was installed.
c. Click on ODBC under the Data Sources section on the left sidebar.
d. Type the data source name ("CVR" in this example), choose the ODBC Driver
("Microsoft SQL Server Driver" in this example) and click the Add button.
e. Enter the name or IP address of the database server in the Server field.
f. In the database field enter the name of the database you created ("CVR"
in this example).
g. Click the CF Settings button and complete the username and password
fields to access this database.
h. Make sure Maintain Database Connections is checked.
i. Click the Create button. After the data source is created you should see
your list of data sources again, with "verified" next to the data source you
just created. If you don't see "verified," you must take whatever steps are
necessary until this server is able to connect to the data source. The
connection must be verified before you can continue.
