Hello all.

At my work, we are using Cold Fusion to query a very small number of =
.dbf files that we maintain with Lotus Approach. We've been doing this =
for almost a year with no problems.

About a month ago, after installing the 4.5 upgrade, we found that when =
we had the databases open in Approach we got an error saying that "the =
Microsoft Jet cannot open the file... because it is already open in =
another application" or something of that sort (sorry, I don't have the =
machine in front of me for the exact error message.

We've tried all the things we could think of, like making sure =
everything's permissions were set correctly, and nothing was opening the =
files in exclusive mode, etc. We also searched all over the internet =
and couldn't find anything.

We are running CF Server 4.5 on a Windows NT Server 4.0 sp4 machine and =
on a NT 4.0 sp6a machine (both with the same problem. One of the =
servers is running CF sp1, the other isn't. The strangest thing is that =
we hooked up an old surplus machine that still have CF 4.0 installed, =
and it worked fine with the files open by other users in Approach.

This is driving us CRAZY! :)

We would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

/s/ John Biesnecker
