We have identified a re-introduced bug in the MDAC that's installed with
Win2000 SP1, where if a select statement contains column concatenation (ie.
select col1 + col2 ...), the resulting column size reported to us is in
excess of 2GB, causing ColdFusion to go off and attempt to allocate that
amount of RAM.

we found that before this fix, our cpu and/or RAM would spike, it would not
recover until cf service was cycled. after the fix we do not have that
problem
