Hi Johnson,

I've done that (about 1-2 years ago). There is third party driver (I believe
it was from Merant try
http://merant.com/products/datadirect/download/eval/indexodbc.asp). It took
me a while to put everything together (I did not have great experience with
Unix in the time) but it definitely worked and wasn't that hard. It was Red
Hat 5.0 or 6.0 (Coldfusion) and NT 4.0 Server (MS SQL 7). I also remember
that I could not modify the property-setting of the driver through the
ColdFusion admin however there was a file stored in some ODBC directory
which was created after I installed the Merant driver. This file was pretty
clear to read and easy to modify.

If you still interesting to have that run or have some questions send me an
email.

Subject: SQL Server connectivity with CF on Linux?

I am considering setting up a Linux server with CF on it. I have only used
CF on NT so I haven't had the exposure to the "other" way of doing things.

My biggest question is with ODBC connectivity. I have setup Apache, PHP and
MySQL on Linux before but I have not heard of a Linux server being able to
connect to a SQL Server 7 box yet. Is this possible? I would love to have
the stability of Linux with CF but I cant afford to do away with my SQL
server box and move everything over to MySQL.

Anyone done this yet?
