I have done something close.
We had comma delimited tab files that we uploaded into SQL server using ISQL
batch processes. You can even automate most of it.
The only major pain with it can be if you have large text fields.
Take a look in the SQL Server help docs for ISQL
Good luck

Subject: 30 Million+ records
The question of the day...
Anybody here ever move 30 Million+ records (roughly 30 gigs or so of data)
from an ASCII Dat tape to say, SQL Server? And do it once a month?
If so, what did you use? DTS or a script to filter the incoming records
(Perl) ...
I've moved 500,000+ once or twice a day from a comma delimited feed,
through Perl, to SQL Server 6.5, and that was no big deal, but so far, I
haven't heard anything too positive about 30 Mil+ records once a month.
Any rec's?
Erika
