Ok, so I'm interested in seeing thread dumps/stack traces, go CF
cowboy, eh? We are seeing some hanging threads, not to be confused
with hanging chads, from our CF instance. They appear to be related
to inactive connections in our Oracle database.

So, I surfed over to
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=ColdFusion_Documentation&file=part_cfm.htm
I follow the directions.....restarting CF

"When the JRun service starts, a Command window will open. Leave this
window displayed in the foreground because it is extremely important
to generate a Stack Trace at the time of the failure symptom."

ugh, nope! When I restart CF I do NOT get a Command window opening at
all. Just starts up as normal. So, how do I do this?
