Hi,

By server dependent, are you talking about POP servers?  If so, my ISP's POP 
server does create UID's.  I opened up a telnet session with it and there they 
were.  Every last message had a UID.  But <CFPOP> wasn't returning them for 
some messages.

that's pretty much server dependent.

javamail, and that's what cf rides on for its mail functionality.
