I had hellacious problems like that with an 11S 5.0 /win 2K box. I finally
found out the reason(s).

1. Check your default site. If that has SSL on it then the two sites are
conflicting. You may have to ...I'm not kidding...import your SSL
certificate into the default site then remove it.

2. How did you install the cert? Was the code generated from the machine you
are on or did you generate it from another box? If so you have to export it
from the certificate store from the original box. Not the export wizard on
the site. Then you have to import it into the certificate store on the other
box. Should be the intermediary cert and the personal cert. You may have to
create a Microsoft Console and then add Certificates to it to get at the
certificates store. Then go to personal certificates and import the file
generated.

3. Then go to the site and assign the certificate to the site.

4. Go to properties on the Directory within 11S5.0 that you want SSL on.
Make sure you check "Require 128 Bit Security" under Directory
security-->secure communications-->edit

Do a search for SSL diagnostics 1.0 and run that if none of the above
applies. I used that to come up with the procedure I use now. I have One
W2K Box running CF 6.1 and a back-up box. I have certs installed in both.
But I had a bitch of a time getting them to work.

Have you verified it is installed on the box? Are you visiting the site as
secure.houseoffusion.com
Specifically? Is port 443 open?

I'm trying to get SSL running on my IIS 5 box and for some really bizarre
reason it's just not working. Anyone around to help?
The site is secure.houseoffusion.com, which is mapped to 64.118.74.248. The
IP is unique with only that site on the IP. There are no host header names
set. The site works normally but not as ssl.
The cert looks good from what I can see but when I try going to it by https,
it just hangs. What am I missing?
Thanks
