If you have host, he or you need needs to add the database to MYSQL . That means usually you need to create a Scheme (database) in MYSQL and then register it in the ColdFusion administrator. If your host has PhyMadmin and allows you to create databases, you do that through a web interface with the right permissions. Then you have to have the Username , password and database name plus the server name or IP address plus, you need to know if MYSQL is on a different port than different port than 3306.
You do have to depend on the Host to create the DB or giving you user privileges so you can go into PhyMadmin or whatever interface they have set-up. Once the MYSQL DB is registered, depending on how Dreamweaver is set up (RDS login), you should be able to see it in the Database area. If not, you have to work with you host to get all this set-up. It sounds complicated, but after the first pass, it's pretty simple. It took me about 10 minutes to figure it out. 9 of them were wasted because I forgot about CF administrator. :-)- Senior moment It's more complicated than setting up Access, but most Database servers are.
