Brian, did you ever come up with a permanent solution to this? When we applied the 8.01 patch we are now getting the exact same scenario, and users cannot upload to our file server without us opening up the permissions more than we really want to (or have had to in the past). We never needed to add the customTags directory to the sandbox dir tab until we patched to 8.01 and there is nothing in the patch notes about it. Fun stuff =\
