Anyone know if you can check for a record lock in Oracle from a CF query? I have a problem with a front-end screen updating an Oracle Apps table ... if someone is editing that record in the applications then my update never commits. I am doing a select right after it on that record and the select sits and spins until the update commits. Even the CF timeout doesn't affect this ... set at 180 seconds and it ran for 300 ... until I saved the record in the apps and then CF came back with a timeout error.
Can require the user to know what they are doing, but that doesn't always work!
