Hola Lee, I've been installing and re-installing CFMX since the early betas on different platforms in all kinds of different configurations, standard and not so standard. As for the ease of the process I'd say it's a little trickier than a CF5 install but overall not very difficult just a few more details to take note of. I think the product itself is great, especially for a 1.0
My original post though was concerning the experience of a particular persona in evaluating the concert of MM's product line....namely CFMX, Flash and Flash Com. Over the past couple weeks I've lent a helping hand to a few peers of mine at other shops where flash and/or cfmx is scarce or non-existent...and based on that experience I'm saying there are some basics steps that can be taken to avoid install/config hiccups and make the initial experience a more positive one. As for RTM...Most questions can certainly be answered by scouring the abundance of material...It's not the lack of information or documentation...it's the accessibility of that info that's key. Heck most questions posted on the list are documented somewhere...but folks are busy so we help each other out by combining our knowledge and experience...providing us with immediate links to what we need to move forward. My point was that certain aspects of the Mx product line can appear murky to newcomers when setting up and evaluating....and we're not talking newbie IT folks...we're talking folks with experience on other platforms looking at the MX solution for the first time in most cases. Not stating facts, just an observations! :) Cheers I'm goin' for a brewski Stace -----Original Message----- From: Lee Fuller [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, August 19, 2002 7:10 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: MM Folks... Stace, I don't think that the meaning of his question was how you interpreted it. I think Jochem was (or at least this is the way *I* read it) simply trying to see if the documentation would have skirted some of the issues you found with this install. Or if RTM would not have helped enough to be useful. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think that he meant "RTFM and all things would be clear." My impression was that he was just trying to clarify. Just my .02... (And, I think that not all issues would be solved by reading the manual... btw.) So you think all issues are documented? | | Jochem | | | ______________________________________________________________________ Your ad could be here.
