If I recall correctly, the hotfix is simply a jar file. When you create a connector, files are copied from the jar file. If the hotfix contains only the jar file, I'd recommend that you recreate the connector using wsconfig. Just for fun, you might try running the page through the CF MX built-in web server, and see what happens there.
