On two different occasions, I backed up a database in SQL Server 7 on one
machine and restored it to SQL Server 7 on another machine. This works
fine, except the logins and db users did not port. I recreated the login
with the same name as before without any problem, but when I created a
database user account to use the login with the same name, I see an error
that reports that the user account already exists.
Is there a way to move a SQL Server 7 database without encountering this
problem? I would try backing up and restoring the master database, along
with my database, but that would affect the other databases on the new
server.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rob
