It's more overhead on the server since you've got 2 servers taking up memory and cpu time... but there's nothing to prevent it ... My only concern would be that the server has enough resources to handle the load, but beyond that you shouldn't run into any dll conflicts or anything so there shouldn't be any programatic reason to avoid it.
