Just to rekindle this thread - whilst browsing the CF Functions in Ben's new
WACK I came across a couple of function that might help when debugging
verity;

GetK2ServerDocCount() - number of documents in all verity k2 indexed
collections
GetK2ServerDocCountLimit() - self explanatory
IsK2ServerDocCountExceeded()
IsK2ServerOnline()

Useful for future debugging....

Then Macromedia should STOP using Verity integration as a selling point for
CF and sell a cheaper version without the piece of sh**.

I'm so fed up with fighting to index tables etc. and having CFINDEX
statements fail for seemingly no reason.
There is NO reason why this statement should not index the records from this
database if there are 71,000 records in that database. It fails at
10,000..that is just...just rubbish, and I can't understand why it is
happening.

And it seems that most of the people I ask can't understand it either!

I am SO frustrated. If I wanted to use straight SQL queries for the search I
would have bloody well used .asp or something.

Well, we ran up against verity's limits pretty quickly, and now we use
inktomi for document searches and manually-written sql searches for database
searches. In the long run, it seems easier for us that way, instead of
fighting with verity all the time. (We even had the the stand alone version
of verity, but grew frustrated with that as well.)
