Yes Douglas, sounded like it to me too. We spent ages checking and rechecking all the permissions of anywhere the CFServer went, and nothing had changed. When we renamed the csvtoquery.dll file to something else, the CF Server worked ok again. (except for the app that uses the custom tag of course).
That was without changing any permissions though. Does that tell us there is a permissions problem or not? Possible? Remedy? | I am using Nate Weiss's CSVtoQuery custom tag to convert 17 .csv files to | queries to be inserted in a database every morning at 7am. Our information | partner FTPs the files into our server every morning, and I then read them | into CF using the tag, then insert them into the MSSql7 database. | | I set it up after testing on my staging server for a week or so, and loaded | the tag into the production server two weeks ago. After I used the CF | administrator to register the tag, it worked as advertised and I was quite | happy with it. Until last Friday. | | At 3am Friday, our Sysadmin rebooted the server (for a reason totally | unrelated to CF) and immediately the CF server refused to work, and kept | showing a NT password challenge dialog box every time anyone tried to use a | cfm page. When we renamed the csvtoquery.dll to something else, thereby | breaking the custom tag, the CF Server booted up ok again and is now working | fine (with the exception of this application of course) | | Do you know of any problem with this query that might cause this behaviour? | And following from that, what we can do to fix it? | | Our environment is: | | NT4 SP6 | CF5.0 | SQLServer7 | | The problem is not apparently the actual execution of the tag, because the | NTserver rebooted at 3am, and the tag is only used in a scheduled task set | to run every morning at 7am. The CF Server stopped working immediately | the NTserver booted up. | | | Any ideas? | | Cheers, | Mike Kear | Windsor, NSW, Australia | AFP WebWorks | | | | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=4 FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox.
