I'm trying to find a work around for the inability to pass two CF Queries objects via a web service. I tried to create a stucture containing both queries and this failed with a de serialization error. Apparently it's a bug. So I thought I would try WDDX. Which Works, but like you say - may be slow.
Luckily, the exchange of data will not happen very frequently.
