I've used the 8.0 and 8.5 COM objects under CF 5. The couple of experiments
I did with CFMX didn't leave me feeling confident -- no luck at all.

There are some good Java-based charting APIs -- commercial ones, that may be
an option under CFMX.

One option you *could* consider is to use CF to get the data from Crystal's
ASP pages it comes packaged with -- using CFHTTP. Not a solution I really
like. You could also just use the Crystal ASP miniapp that comes with the
product as a part of your application --- no reason you can't put the
appropriate links (or generate them on the fly, depending on your needs) in
the CF and link back to the CF from your ASP-based Crystal pages.

I'd be really interested to hear other's experience with alternative
reporting tools -- Jasper reports anyone? DataVision? etc.
