On your action page, use evaluate to evaluate the string and variable, concatenated.

<cfset selectValue=evaluate(columnname & ":thing")>

If I had something like this:
<cfform name="billy" action="#self#?fuseaction=#xfa.foo#">
<cfoutput query="bob">
<select name="#columnname#:thing">
<option value="thing1">thing1</option>
<option value="thing2">thing2</option>
</select>
</cfoutput>
</cfform>
in a form, how would I output the values of each #columnname#:thing????

I remember doing this once before, but can't locate my code.

Thanks,
Drew Harris
