I did submit the suggestion that Macromedia incorporate all of its updates into
one "intelligent Updater" much along the line of the one used by Symantec.
This installer package will search for any Symantec software and apply the
appropriate updates, virus definitions, and whatever. This packaging is a very
convenient method for the end user to keep up with updates, security patches,
hotfixes, as well as virus definitions, if needed. MM could even build in to
this package confirmation of licensing and even automatically disable illegally
installed software. No customer should be required to pay an additional
subscription fee to conveniently receive product updates, unless they are new
releases or marketed upgrades.

I also submitted the suggestion that has been discussed here, and that is to
have a single updater page which will present the user with all of the updates
for all MM products in one place. This would be much more convenient than
searching out each product individually, suffering an interruption at work then
missing one, and forgetting it when you return to the site.

As an example the most recent "Intelligent Updater" I ran from Symantec, not
only updated the virus definitions, but applied a patch to Norton Ghost, and
updated Norton Systemworks as well.

For a not-so-modest fee, I would be willing to create an InstallShield script
file that would do all this and submit it for testing. All I would need to know
is which version of IS you are using. :-)
