Tell him to check very carefully for the CFIDE folder. I specified an CFIDE path of /var/www/anotherdirectory/CFIDE and found my admin was now located at /var/www/anotherdirectory/CFIDE/CFIDE. Apparently from what I have gathered from some of the discussion here(someone correct me if I am wrong), you need to run the appropriate version of ~/CFIDE/administrator/ for certain setup tasks to be completed. I had some problems until I found the right one but it only took a few minutes to figure out.
