There's a fast article in the latest FA that describes exactly how to use CFPOP and some very simple recognition code to clean all virus traces from a mailbox. I've built it into my spam scanner and it cleaned out a few thousand messages in no time at all (doing 5 at a time rather than 50). Just pop some mail, check the header for virus patterns, delete the mail with the patterns, do next 50-number of messages deleted.
