1) install the Oracle client, setup your tnsnames.ora file with the SID data you get from your Oracle DBA 2) use the ODBC manager on your box to setup a DSN using the ODBC driver for Oracle...assuming you are using windows here 3) open the CFAdmin tool and enter the user name and password for the DSN.
