I have to agree. I'm a Homesite+ hand-coder, and in the Allaire-Macromedia switch I whined long and hard here for there to be some sort of "Coder MX", bringing the HS/CFS IDE up to the standards of the rest of the MM MX line. Nick Bradbury's work on TopStyle has clearly shown that there's a deal of coder-friendly improvements to be made in text-based tools like this. But even though I think this is still a great idea, in the end, surely we're all wise enough to the s**t we all swim in to see why MM decided to pitch to non-CFers. Any avid CFer will be aware of the new MM releases, and will dive deeper than the press releases to see what's in it for them. My cursory look through definitely made me think DWMX might be the first DW I start using. We should keep MM on their toes. But buying CF, seeing the "Neo" overhaul through, and putting so much into the RedSky point release... these seem to make it clear that MM are serious about CF. Publicity material for an app that has always been about much more than CF shouldn't colour our views on this.
