I concur. 

HTTP compression works well with IIS5.0 and ColdFusion MX.

No added purchase or change to code necessary.

The gzip filter from Servlet Suite also works well:

http://www.servletsuite.com/servlets/gzipflt.htm

But is not as efficient as implementing compression via IIS.

The IIS 5 compression works fine with CF MX.
