cfif dynamic lt / gt

hey everyone. i want to write a cfif tag that checks to see if a var is
defined and switches the gt / lt attribute based on that check. for example
- if the variable is defined, then write


cfif blah lt 4


if the variable is not defined then write...


cfif blah gt 4


any help is appreciated. thanks.
