I always rename files and images that users upload, but I make sure to hold
on to the original name. I rename the files to a UUID that way I do not have
to worry about the naming conflicts and I still have the original name to
use for display purposes, i.e... "click here to edit this image", etc..

Hey All,
A couple issues that I'm wondering how others handle:
1) Uploading an image file with spaces in the name. Do you upload
it...check file name on server for spaces...if spaces found rename it
(removing spaces so the image can be displayed in a browser)? Is there a
faster way of doing this?
2) When using the "move" action, there is no option to handle name
conflicts!! Do you then have to do a try/catch around the move and if an
error is found try another file name (seems pretty clunky to me)??
TIA
Cheers
